Austrian business wants to take root in the mountainous regions of Transcarpathia

The CEO of the Austrian "AVE – Energi" company Master Helmut Burger and Transcarpathian regional council chairman Ivan Baloha signed a memorandum of cooperation between Austrian investors and the local government. In late February, the managment of the AVE visited Transcarpathia and had a meeting with the regional council chairman Ivan Baloha, during which they talked on the further implementation of the Austrian investment project in Uzhgorod and Transcarpathia.

The memorandum stipulates that the parties note the successful implementation of the collaboration during 2012 in collection, processing and disposal of solid waste and the desire to implement new plans and projects in the following years. At present, enterprises of the AVE Group provide services, besides the city of Uzhgorod, to the communities of Vynogradiv district, Khust, the city of Mukachevo and Mukachevo district.

The parties expressed their desire to expand the business of the AVE company and agreed to work together to involve the settlements near the regional center in the project, and eventually in 2015 – the city of Chop, Irshava, Khust, Tyachiv and Rakhiv districts.

According to the Memorandum they planned organizational and explanatory measures so that local communities would adopt decisions on the allocation of space for the storage and disposal of solid waste.

It is also proposed to form a delegation of representatives of local authorities to visit AVE Group companies engaged in the collection and recycling of solid waste in Miskolc (Hungary) and Linz (Austria).
