Today, around midnight, a bus "NEOPLAN" arrived at the checkpoint to leave Ukraine to Hungary. One of the passengers of the bus, presented for passport control the passport of a citizen of Republic of Korea. Border guard service inspector became suspicious about the validity of the document and he conducted a detailed inspection of the passport using special equipment.
During the inspection, the inspector found out that some pages in the valid passport were pasted from another passport. Also, a number of other signs of forgery were found.
By forging the passport, the citizen of the Republic of Korea tried to illegally cross the border, so a report under Art. 204-1 of the Administrative Code of Ukraine was drawn up.
Border guards reported this to Uzhgorod Department of the National Police in Transcarpathian region and sent a report on revelation of signs of a criminal offense under Part 4 of Art. 358 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Due to the mild severity of the crime, the police did not detain the Korean. Thus, he is awaiting for a trial for an administrative offense in Ukraine.
