At night, near the border, border guards found almost 30 boxes of cigarette and a rubber boat

At night, border guards of the "Vylok" department of the Mukachevo detachment prevented the smuggling of a large batch of tobacco products across the border. Around 3.00 am, border guards noticed a group of people with packages moving near the Tisa river which forms the border with Hungary. Having noticed the border guards, the unknown people ran away.

In the course of immediately organized operational search activities, border guards found 29 boxes of cigarettes and a rubber boat, which the criminals planned to use to smuggle the tobacco products to neighboring Hungary.

Also, near the border, law enforcement officers found a special device used by smugglers to cross the drag road.

The boxes containing 14,300 packs of cigarettes without excise stamps were delivered to the department of the Border Guard Service "Vylok".

Currently, measures are being taken to identify the persons involved in the attempt to smuggle the tobacco products across the border.
