Are Euromaidan activists threatened with death?

 The Public convention of Uzhgorod Euromaidan appealed with a statement to the representatives of all media. Here is the text!

We would like to inform the media about the increasing pressure from the executive government and law enforcement officials on activists of Uzhgorod Euromaidan and the Public lustration committee of Transcarpathian region. In particular, according to the received information, unfounded criminal proceedings against the above mentioned persons are opened, and the administrative burden on them increases. To adequately respond and take preventive measures, those associations members will file requests with the police of the region in accordance with current legislation.

Also, we want to point out that constant pressure is exerted on the committee members which is associated with their activities for the implementation of public lustration in Transcarpathia. It is expressed in constant provocations, defamatory publications in the media and threats of physical violence.

      Thus, according to the available information, an attempt of physical destruction of some Lustration Committee members is being prepared.

     In connection with the foregoing, with this statement we would like to confirm our intention to further implement public lustration in accordance with the position of the majority of citizens.
