Borzhava narrow-gauge railway received a retro-bell, locomotive lanterns and rail fittings

The regional authorities will financially contribute to the revival of the Borzhava narrow-gauge railway ("Antsya Kushnytska"), which is one of the symbols of Transcarpathia. This decision was made during a meeting between the head of the Regional State Administration Hennadiy Moskal and the director of the Lviv regional branch of the "Ukrzaliznytsya" PJSC Ivan Hrunyk.

– The narrow-gauge is on the balance sheet of the UZ, and the pilot project using the retro-steam locomotive GR-280, which was made possible thanks to the Ministry of Infrastructure, is financed by the Lviv and Odesa branches of the Ukrzaliznytsya, – H. Moskal said. – Transcarpathian region is interested in the revival of the "Antsya Kushnytska" the most, so we should also contribute to the financing of the project.   

Ivan Hrunyk, in turn, promised to assist in the transfer of a locomotive, which is installed in Chernivtsi as a monument, and can be used on the Borzhava narrow-gauge railway after repair.

– And as for the current tourist project, we are doing everything to extend the route of the retro steam locomotive GR-280 from Khmilnyk to Irshava this week, – I. Hrunyk said.
The head of the Regional State Administration asked all citizens to contribute to the revival of "Antsya Kushnytska":

– The inhabitants of cities and villages located along the narrow-gauge railway probably have a lot of old equipment that has been outdated and dismantled. Please, call to the regional state administration and inform if you are willing to give it for the Borzhava narrow-gauge railway and on what condtitions. We can use some of the equipment for the existing railway, and the rest will become exhibits of the future Museum of Borzhava narrow-gauge railway. We already have the first exhibits (bell, locomotive lanterns and rail fittings).

Recall that last Friday the retro-train made the first trip on the Borzhava narrow-gauge railway.
