Another “seekers of a better life” have been detained

Yesterday, at the site of the department "Uzhgorod", an alarm complex tripped. As a result of the inspection, "green berets" found a gap in the barrier fence and a trace of footsteps. Wasting no time, border guards began searching activities. As a result, they detained an unknown man, who said that he was a citizen of Ukraine, who was probably involved in trafficking of illegal immigrants across the border.

During subsequent search operations, at a distance of about 300 meters from the border, border guards found and detained a citizen of Egypt and two citizens of Sri Lanka. The offenders had no documents and refused to explain anything.

Currently, the measures to identify the detainees, to establish the circumstances of the offense and to draw up the relevant procedural documents are being taken.

Also, yesterday, at the site of the same department, border guards detained two citizens of Vietnam, who intended to illegally cross the border and to get into the European Union countries in search of a better life. The violators were found by the district inspector of the Border Guard Service while checking the bus station in Uzhgorod.

One of the detainees had no IDs, but the other one had a passport of the citizen of Vietnam. In order to clarify the circumstances of the offense, the men were taken to the department "Uzhgorod".

Relevant procedural documents were drawn up against the detainees. Their fate will be decided by the court.
