The "Parade of Chimney-sweeps" for the third time will take place in Mukachevo

Denmark is considered the birthplace of chimney-sweeps, since in 1639 a Lithuanian Goodman Olsen was cleaning the chimneys in the castle of King Christian IV in Copenhagen. And in 1728, there was a big fire in Copenhagen which destroyed nearly half of the city, after which the problem of fireplaces and chimneys maintenance became of national importance, and cimney-sweeps became important persons.

There is such an important person in Mukachevo - Bertalon Tovt, or as he is popularly called - Berti-bacsi. He has been doing this job in Mukachevo since 1973, and in 2010, his monument was set on the main street of the city! Thus Berti-bacsi is the face, the hallmark of Mukachevo!

And July 27 is his birthday! And for the third time, the "Parade of Chimney-sweeps" will be celebrated in Mukachevo, which is the professional holiday and Berti-bacsi's birthday at the same time! So, let's congratulate him on the 69th anniversary together!

The III Parade of Chimney-sweeps in Mukachevo will be held with the participation of foreign colleagues!

Hungary will be represented by members of the trade union of Hungarian chimney-sweeps: Peter King, Kin Róbert, Nagy Zsolt, Gabor Bohn, Balázs Kovács. Estonia sent delegates: Hillimar Heinroos, Teet Võhandu, Raul Ront. The Lviv Guild of Chimney-sweeps will also send its representatives! Get involved!

Traditionally, a fun costume parade will march through the streets of the city, we will learn the history of this profession, rub a button on the monument to a chimney-sweep - for luck, make a wish between two identical chimney-sweeps. Traditionally, the Caramel Workshop is preparing a surprise for the event, and the Bondarenko Confectionery House is making a birthday cake for the MUkachevo chimney-sweep.

We invite everyone to Mukachevo to the 3rd Parade of Chimney-sweeps 2018, on July 27th. The beginning is at 18:00 near the monument to a chimney-sweep (Cyril and Methodius Square).
