October 16 at 19.00, in the Art Center "Ilko Gallery", there will be a musical soiree with the Polish String Quintet "Volosi". It was formed just two years ago at the famous Polish festival "Nowa Tradycja", and immediately won every possible prizes from jury awards to People's Choice awards. The unexpected combination of classic standards and folk motifs is enchanting and a year later the performers confirmed their status by winning the Grand Prix of the "European Broadcasting Union" for the best world music composition in Europe.  Some of the group members are classical musicians who loved folk music, with its life-affirming spontaneity and beauty. Other ones are inhabitants of Tatras - Gorals, but outstanding Gorals, they sometimes sound as if coming from New Orleans.

Members of the group Krzysztof and Stanislaw Lasons - graduates of the Music Academy named after Karol Szymanowski (Katowice) - are fascinated by folk music, which they heard since childhood in the nearby mountain villages. Zbigniew Michalek, Jan Kachmazhyk and Robert Vazhut are Goral folk musicians, the inhabitants of the mountains on the border of the Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia.

Today, the number of fans of the band is growing, not only in their native Poland but also in Georgia, Germany, Great Britain, Denmark. In Ukraine, the band was introduced at the International Festival "ArtPole 2012", proving the success with sold-out performances in seven Ukrainian cities.

In Uzhgorod, you can listen to the world-known band on the 16th of October.
