Animated film written by a native of Beregovo Anita Doron is nominated for “Oscar”

Animation film of Canadian and international production "The Breadwinner" is nominated for the prestigious award of the American Academy of Motion Picture "Oscar" in the nomination "Best Animated Feature".

The film’s script, based on the book by Canadian writer Debora Ellis, was written by 42-year-old director and scriptwriter, who comes from Beregovo, Anita Doron.  

The producer of the film is Angelina Jolie.

The film will tell about the life of a girl named Parwan, who lives under the Taliban regime in Afghanistan, and is forced to disguise as a boy to help her family after her father was unfairly imprisoned.

The Oscar nominees for "The Best Animated Feature" are: The Boss Baby, The Breadwinner, Coco, Ferdinand, Loving Vincent.

The Best Picture nominees are: Call Me by Your Name, Darkest Hour, Dunkirk, Get Out, Lady Bird, Phantom Thread, The Post, The Shape of Water, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri.

The 90th Oscars Awards ceremony will take place on March 4th.
