An environmental project for the protection of bats has started the Carpathian Euroregion

The international project "Raising environmental awareness in local communities through joint conservation of bats in the border regions of Hungary, Slovakia, Romania and Ukraine" has started.
This project aims to improve the negative (prejudicial) attitude of many residents of the border area to bats, not least because of the coronavirus pandemic, which can lead to degradation of natural resources and adversely affect the sustainability of ecosystems in the border areas of Hungary, Slovakia, Romania and Ukraine, the Information service of the Institute of Ecological and Religious Studies informs.
The aim of the project is to support the sustainable use of the environment in the border regions of the four countries by jointly protecting the bats through active conservation measures, a public awareness campaign and promotion of good practices for local communities. The project is being implemented under the Hungary-Slovakia-Romania-Ukraine UIS Cross-border Cooperation Program 2014-2020.
