The Transcarpathian Research and Training Center of Family Medicine was opened at the Institute of Postgraduate Education and Pre-University Training of UzhNU, the official website of the educational institution reported. Its feature is that the center is the first in Ukraine which specializes in training of family doctors.
The opening of the Center was attended by the rector of Uzhgorod National University, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Fedir Vashchuk, the vice-rector on scientific and pedagogical work Yuri Peresta, the vice-rector on scientific and pedagogical work and international relations Roman Ofitsynsky, and the director of the Institute of Postgraduate Education and Pre-University Training Ivan Rohach.
The opening of the Center was also attended by the delegation from Corvallis (Oregon, USA) – the Mayor Julie Manning and family physician Mark Remton. The cooperation between Uzhgorod National University and the Department of Family Medicine at Oregon Health and Science University (Portland) has been going on for years, and thanks to that we were able to open such a center.
