Administrative division of Transcarpathia will be discussed tomorrow at a briefing in the RSA

The presentation of the proposed new district division of the region and discussion of the relevance and future changes to the administrative and territorial structure will take place in Uzhgorod
On September 17 at 11.30, a briefing with the presentation of a new proposed district division of Transcarpathian region will be held in the small hall of RSA (Narodna Square, 4, 5th floor).
The experts will explain the criteria for formation of new enlarged districts, why the issue of improving the district division of regions in Ukraine has become relevant and how this process will affect the lives of citizens.
Speakers of the briefing:
Orest Mykyta, Project Manager at the Institute for Regional Development (the city of Lviv);
Andriy Sheketa, Chairman of the Board of Elders of the Regional Initiatives Foundation, member of the Transcarpathian Regional Council, member of the RSA working group on the implementation of decentralization reform.
Immediately after the briefing, at 12.00, a round table on the topic: "Formation of a new district (county) division in Transcarpathian region" will begin in the same room.
Participants of the discussion:

  • Experts who developed proposals on the sub-regional level administrative and territorial structure Transcarpathian region;
  • Members of the interagency working group established at the RSA to develop proposals for improving the administrative and territorial structure;
  • Representatives of the Ministry of Regional Development;
  • Regional NGOs and relevant expert environment;
  • Representatives of untired communities formed in the region.
