As previously reported, social activists actively join police officers to patrol the streets of Irshava and settlements of Irshava district. The results are already seen.
Yesterday, during patrolling, at 19 o’clock, in the center of Irshava, traffic inspectors of Irshava district police station, stopped a truck driven by a 30-year resident of the city of Khust, who was carrying scrap metal without proper documents. During the check, the man was unable to explain the origin of the cargo, so this truck was delivered to the impound lot. Currently, experts of the Civil Service for Combating Economic Crimes Sector are investigating into this fact.
After midnight, police officers and activists noticed on the road a car Mercedes Vito, the driver of which increased the speed after seeing the patrol, which caused officers to stop him. During conversation of the joint police patrol with the driver, it became clear that the latter was a fireman. After working hours, he decided to relax and drink some beer with friends, and was returning home by car. Then, the driver was tested for alcohol content in the blood. In particular, alcohol level in the driver’s blood was 1.4 ppm. The police drafted a report against the driver under Art.130 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offences (driving a vehicle while intoxicated). The vehicle is on the impound lot.
The Head of Irshava district police station, Lieutenant Colonel Mykola Kurytsya said that currently they had intensified prevention activities together with community activists in the district, which contributes to stability and order in the district – Vita Horzov, Irshava District Police reported.
