About 2,000 reports of violations of customs rules has been drawn up

In January-October 2015, the Transcarpathian customs departments drew up 1,925 reports on violation of customs rules (VCR). Compared to the same period in the last year, the number of reports increased by 238 cases.

Customs experts note that as the number of recorded violations of customs legislation increases, the cost of items of violations also grows. Since the beginning of the year, the cost of items of violations has amounted to nearly UAH 35.8 million. During the same period last year, 1,687 cases of VCR at UAH 29.1 million were opened at ​​the customs. The difference in cost is nearly UAH 6.7 million.

In 769 cases of VCR, items of violations at UAH 29.2 million were actually seized.

Mostly, violationa of customs rules are recorded at the exit from the Ukraine (1,075). However, the cost of items of violations in the cases recorded at the entrance is 53% higher than in those recorded at the exit.

The average cost of a case of violation of customs regulations for 10 months of the year is nearly UAH 18.6 thousand.

The main items of violations recorded at the Transcarpathian customs office are food – 486 cases, including tobacco – 136 cases; narcotic and psychotropic substances – 115 cases; vehicles – 92 cases; weapons, ammunition, special means – 21 cases.
