A policeman will be tried for beating a detainee

Prosecutor’s Office has completed an investigation and sent to trial the criminal case against local policeman D. on abuse of power or authority, accompanied by violence or painful and offending personal dignity actions (Part 2 article  365 of CC of Ukraine).
 In October last year, this policeman caused moderate injuries to the citizen, who was taken to police station for committing administrative violations. 
If his guilt is proved in the court, he will receive a sentence of imprisonment for a term of three to eight years, with deprivation of the right to occupy certain positions or engage in certain activities – informs the press service of the Prosecutor of the Transcarpathian region.
