A plaque in honor of Masaryk was installed in Uzhgorod

On the occasion of the Decade of Czech culture in Uzhgorod, there was the grand opening of the plaque dedicated to Tomas Masaryk, the first president of Czechoslovakia, which in 1920-1939 included Subcarpathian Rus (now Transcarpathian region).

The event was attended by representatives of local authorities, the guests from abroad, including the Mayor of Jihlava Jaroslav Vymazal, Consul General of Slovakia in Uzhgorod Janka Buryanova, Consul General of the Czech Republic in Lviv David Pavlita and others.

First, they laid flowers to the monument of Thomas Masaryk in the park that bears his name, and then there was the grand opening of the memorial to the first president of Czechoslovakia, the publication 7 dniv reported.
