Today, a new sports ground with artificial turf was opened in Uzhgorod Classical Gymnasium, almost 1.5 million hryvnias was spent for its construction, 50% – from the city budget. From now on, high school students – 887 students in grades 5-11 – will be able to spend more time to do sports and improve their health. This was reported by the press service of the City Council.
The City Mayor Bohdan Andriyiv, the Secretary of Uzhgorod City Council Andriana Sushko, member of the Transcarpathian Regional Council Andriy Andriyiv, the First Deputy Chairman of the Football Federation of Transcarpathia, member of the Executive Committee of the Ukrainian Football Association Miroslav Shcherbey, the head of the Department of Education Natalia Mukhomedyanova, the principal of the Classical Gymnasium Serhiy Roman greeted the attendees at the grand opening of the sports ground.

Sports grounds with artificial turfs are being installed under the state program "Construction of football fields with artificial turf in the regions of Ukraine", the construction is funded from the state budget of Ukraine and local budgets equally, 50×50.
