Yesterday, Cyril and Methodius Cathedral was consecrated in Mukachevo. The event, announced on the website of Mukachevo Greek Catholic diocese, was a landmark not only for the townspeople. This is evidenced by the photos posted on the Facebook page of Mukachevo City Council.
"I think that our city had not seen so many high-ranking clergy from around the world for quite a while.
Without exaggeration, this is an important day in the life of the Greek Catholic Church. And not just because our Cathedral is called one of the most beautiful in Ukraine.
But this event has a personal signifcance for me. We started the construction 10 years ago. And I thank God for giving me enough strength to finish it.
Thanks to architects from Italy, builders and workers from Ukraine, and in general to all, who over the years have made many efforts for the construction of one of the greatest cathedrals in Ukraine here in Mukachevo", – MP Victor Baloha wrote on his page on Facebook.
