A foreigner, who hid cigarettes in the wheels of his car, lost the expensive “BMW X3” at the Transcarpathian customs

At the checkpoint "Solotvyno" employees of Transcarpathian customs office together with border guards prevented an attempted illegal export of tobacco products to the EU. A citizen of Romania tried to illegally move the cigarettes across the customs border.

The foreigner drove to the checkpoint by a car BMW X3 with Romanian registration. However, based on analysis and risk assessment, officers of the Transcarpathian customs office took the vehicle out of the general flow for customs inspection.

Consequently, they found in the wheels of the vehicle tobacco products hidden from customs control, namely 1175 packs of cigarettes "Jin Ling", "Compliment" and "Rothmans" without excise stamps of Ukraine.

Thus, the citizen committed acts aimed at moving tobacco products across the customs border of Ukraine concealed from customs control.

These actions have signs of customs rules violation under Part 1 of Article 483 of the Customs Code of Ukraine.

Currently, the report on violation of customs regulations was made, the cigarettes worth more than 22,000 UAH and the car worth almost 280,000 UAH were seized.
