A dead man was found in the middle of a street in Chop

The police have launched an investigation, the Transcarpathian region police informed.
Today, on January 10, there were reports on the Internet that an unidentified man had died on a street in Chop and that the police took a long time to arrive.
Indeed, around six in the morning, Uzhgorod police department received a phone message from a citizen that an unidentified man had collapsed and was lying on a street of Chop.
A police investigative team immediately arrived at the scene, namely Bereg Street in Chop. Unfortunately, by that time, the person was already dead. The man was identified, it was a 61-year-old resident of Chop. There were no signs of violent death on the body.
This event was registered in the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations, preliminary legal classification is Part 1 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (with the note "natural death"). The cause of death will be determined by forensic examination.
At the same time, the verification of the information published in the media, in particular, regarding the actions of the police and other relevant bodies and services during the documentation of this incident, has started.
