A citizen of Germany tried to smuggle cigarettes on the compartment for the car folding roof

Border guards detained a German citizen in a "BMW" with cigarettes hidden in the compartment for a folding roof.

This morning, at the checkpoint "Tisa", border guards of the Chop detachment together with customs workers detained another shipment of contraband tobacco products.

A German national tried to smuggle cigarettes in a car "BMW" made in 2003. The foreigner born in 1972 was leaving Ukraine through the lane "green corridor", but border guards decided to thoroughly examine the car. 

During the in-depth inspection, they found 920 packs of cigarettes "LM" with excise stamps of Ukraine in the compartment for the folding roof of the car. The total value of the seized cigarettes and the car amounted to more than 226,500 UAH.
