A serviceman of Chop border guard detachment has been sentenced to 4 years imprisonment with the trial period of 2 years for demanding a bribe of 900 euros. According to the press service of the Security Service of Ukraine, it is this amount that now former border guard demanded for assistance in transportation of tobacco products through the "green corridor".
On April 13 the bribe-taker was detained by the Security Service. Military prosecutors of Uzhgorod garrison opened a criminal case under Part 3 of Art.368 (bribery) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The judgment rendered by the Uzhgorod City District Court entered into force, referred to in the press service notification.
