103 cartons of cigarettes carefully hidden in the ceiling of the minibus did not escape the watchful eyes of customs officers 
Another attempt to illegally export tobacco products in a passenger vehicle was stopped today (20.08.20) at the customs post "Tisa" of the Transcarpathian customs. 
Thus, a 36-year-old driver of a minibus "Mercedes-Benz" going from Ukraine to Italy during customs control declared personal belongings and denied carrying any hidden goods. 
However, the customs officers decided to check the Lviv carrier for integrity by carrying out a detailed inspection of his vehicle in the in-depth inspection box. 
As a result, inspectors found in the ceiling of the minibus 103 cartons of cigarettes hidden from customs control. Access became possible after dismantling of the ceiling decorative trimming. 
Thus, a report was drawn up against the Ukrainian under Part 1 of Article 483 of the Customs Code of Ukraine, which entails a fine in amount of 100% of the goods value with confiscation of such goods, as well as vehicles with specially made caches used to transport the goods across the customs border of Ukraine with violation of customs rules.  
The hidden tobacco products of various brands worth almost UAH 39 thousand and the minibus (made in 2003) worth about UAH 190 thousand were seized pending court decision.
