“10 meters of your skills” on 10 meters of Uzhgorod

Ten meters of Teatralna Square in Uzhgorod today was occupied by… contemporary art: on October 12, 2017, a unique open air art show "10 meters of your skills" took place in the very center of the city. Its author is a young artist from Lviv Maxim Skvortsov. Within an hour, the boy painted a ten-meter-long picture on a Whatman paper.

A few cans of acrylic paint and markers, some imagination and inspiration – and everything is ready.

The unique event was held within the Open Student Painting Contest "Silver Easel", which is taking place in the regional center of Transcarpathia.

Maxim Skvortsov was born in Poltava in 1995, graduated from Lviv National Academy of Arts (Department of Monumental Painting). In April 2017, he passed the qualifying stage and became a participant of the 2nd All-Ukrainian Student Painting Contest "Silver Easel", which took place in Uzhgorod.

In August of this year, Maxim created the first art project – it was in Lviv. Now is the turn of Uzhgorod. "The idea of my art show is to tell people that there are young artists in Ukraine who create contemporary art, – the artist said. – I also want to show my young colleagues that we need to go outside, to create and show people that we have contemporary art."

Young designer student of the Lviv Academy of Arts Oleg Havryliv, who helped Maxim with the art show, decided to design a collection of clothing with Skvortsov’s prints.

By the way, the works of M. Skvortsov inspire other talented boys and girls to think about their own projects.

Maxim Skvortsov plans to hold his art shows in other cities of Ukraine. At the moment, he is grateful to the "Silver Easel", which became the starting point for the artist and helped him to launch his professional career.
