Investigators of the Velyky Berezny police department opened criminal proceedings for attempted murder of a resident of the village of Vyshka. The choice of pre-trial restraint against the man, who poured gasoline on his fellow villager and set him on fire, is being decided.
Officers of Velyky Berezny district police detained a 38-year-old resident of the village of Vyshka in accordance with Article 208 of the CPC. The man is suspected of attempted murder of his fellow villager.
The incident happened yesterday, April 2. Law enforcement officers found out that on that day the 38-year-old victim was staying at his friend’s place. A sudden altercation arose between the 33-year-old host and his guest. During the fight, the man grabbed a plastic bottle with fuel, poured it on his guest, set him on fire and fled.
The victim with numerous burns was taken to the regional hospital.
Investigators opened criminal proceedings over attempted murder. The pre-trial restraint against the 33-year-old man will be imposed soon. The investigator is requesting custody.
