Officers of the Tyachiv police department notified a resident of the district center of being suspected of causing severe bodily injuries. The district court has already imposed a pre-trial restraint in the form of detention. The man is being held in a temporary detention center.
On Sunday, July 23, doctors of the district hospital reported that an unidentified unconscious male with visible bodily injuries had been delivered to the hospital. The doctors found the man near a shop in Tyachiv.
The victim was unable to explain to the police how he had gotten injured. The police watched the footage from video surveillance cameras and found out that an unknown person had attacked his victim near the fence of a local store and beaten him without using any objects. In the course of operational search activities, employees of the criminal police of Tyachiv department found out that a 51-year-old resident of Tyachiv had inflicted severe bodily injury to a 54-year-old resident of the village of Bedelevya. The man was notified of being suspected and the court imposed on him a pretrial restraint in the form of detention. The attacker is being held in a temporary detention isolator.
A criminal proceeding over this incident was initiated under Part 2 of Art. 121 of the CCU, that is intentional grave bodily harm. Such an offense is punishable by imprisonment for a term of seven to ten years.
