Organizers of cigarette smuggling in Transcarpathia resorted to threats to border guards

Last night, around midnight, a border patrol of the "Dilove" department of the Mukachevo detachment prevented an attempt of cross-border smuggling of tobacco products.

The staff of the border guard agency received information about possible illegal activity. Additional forces were immediately sent at the scene to arrest violators. Shortly afterwards, near the border line, on the bank of the Tisa river, border guards found four packages of cigarettes. Two offenders carrying the goods, having noticed the border guards, left the load and ran away.

However, a few minutes later, one of the border guards, who took part in the operation, was approached by a local resident. The man behaved aggressively and began to threaten the soldier for the apprehension of the tobacco products, promising even to burn his house. The competent authorities were informed about this fact, the investigation continues.
