On 13-14 of May, Transcarpathia welcomes art scholars from six countries within the scientific and practical conference "Erdelyi Readings".
The event is supported by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, Transcarpathian Regional State Administration, the Department of Culture of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration and Transcarpathian Art Institute, which is actually the initiator and organizer of the conference.
During the time of its existence, the conference has grown from local to international scale and is now one of the most prestigious professional conferences in Ukraine.
This year, more than one hundred speakers participate in the event – researchers and eminent figures of culture and art of Ukraine, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Switzerland and China. Those are, in particular, member of the NAS of Ukraine Mykola Mushinka (Slovakia), the director of the Slavic Library of the National Library of the Czech Republic Lukáš Babka (Czech Republic), the dean of the Faculty of History and Theory of Art of LNAA Rostislav Shmahalo, the rector of the Kharkiv State Academy of Arts and Design Olena Olenina.
During the conference, the participants will present their reports in four thematic sections: "Arts and Culture", "Pedagogy and Art Education", "Actual pPoblems of Fine and Decorative Art and Design", "Modern Art Process."
The conference will not be limited to scientific presentations and discussions: the program includes the presentation of reference books and art albums and attending other cultural events.
The May readings are organized in honor of the founder of Transcarpathian school of painting Adalbert Erdelyi – traditionally on the day of his birth, May 25. This autumn, on September 19, the artistic community of the region will commemorate the 60th anniversary of the memory of the great artist.
