Chop customs officers found illegally transported boat engines and ammunition

Chop customs officers prevented two our compatriots to illegally import motor engines without paying taxes and fees, and 50 hidden rounds to hunting firearms.
In the first case, a 33-year-old driver of a cargo and passenger minibus, while crossing the Ukrainian-Hungarian border and passing customs control late at night at the "Tisa" checkpoint, probably counted on fatigue and inattention of Chop inspectors during the customs clearance. Having declared a small amount of currency and a diesel to a "Volkwagen", the man "forgot" to indicate two more engines of "Suzuki" and "Yamaha", which he had previously concealed between the passenger and cargo compartment.
So, for violation of customs regulations, a protocol was drawn up against the Ukrainian citizen under Art. 483, Part 1 of the Customs Code of Ukraine. Both boat engines, whose value will be determined by experts, and the minibus worth around 160,000 UAH, used to transport the hidden goods, were seized until the court decision.
In the second case, a 42-year-old resident of Chernihiv, also returning from Italy via Hungary, at the crossing point "Luzhanka" parked his car "Daimlerchrysler GL 320 CDI 4 Matic" in the "green corridor", thus declaring honest intention to cross the border. However, customs officers sent the car in the "red corridor" to the observation deck.
Soon the inspectors found two packs of 25 cartridges for hunting rifled firearms of Italian production, "RC 3" and "PL 32" brands (gauge 12). When crossing the border, the Ukrainian had no permits for carrying ammunition.
Thus, for the unlawful transportation of 50 units of ammunition for smoothbore hunting rifles, which are subject to restricitions, a protocol was drawn up against the driver under Article 483, Part 1 of the Customs Code of Ukraine. The hidden ammunition without permits was seized until the court judgment.
