Vendors at the Uzhgorod market: buy now, because before Easter it will be more expensive (PHOTOS)

Easter comes in 2 weeks. Generally, the closer to the holidays, the higher prices for food to the Easter table. Therefore prudent Uzhgorod residents are stocking food already.

In particular, the green market on Koryatovich square this morning, April 20, was overcrowded with customers. People trade and buy, buy and trade.

Vendors say, the closer to Easter, the higher the demand, and thus already next Saturday the price of their goods may go up.

And today, for example, smoked ham is sold at 80 UAH per kilo. The price of home sausage is the same. The average price of beef and pork has not changed – about 50 UAH per kilo.

Eggs on the market cost 75 kopiykas. 

Other food cost as follows:

potatoes (old) – 4 UAH (kg)

beets – 6 UAH (kg);

carrots – 6 UAH (kg);

onion (old) – 5 UAH (kg);

cabbage – 5 UAH (kg);

apples – 8.12 UAH (kg).

Prices of cucumbers and tomatoes are quite high. For example, a kilo of cucumbers costs 16 to 20 UAH, and the tomatoes – 30 UAH or more.
