To expand the boundaries of the boardwalk, turning Nedetseya street into local Montmartre – this is one of the ideas included in the new Master Plan of the city on Latorica.
According to the chief architect of Mukachevo Victor Pivtso, now the new master plan is under expertise and soon it will be submitted for approval to the City Council members.
Along with this document they will develop the zoning plan and the historic-architectural reference plan to be followed by all cities, rich in historical monuments.
The previous historical and architectural plan of Mukachevo was developed 25 years ago thanks to the specialists of "Lvivproektrestavratsiya" design institute. And now they again want to entrust this task to the experts from the neighboring region. It costs a lot, so the development of the important document will depend on whether there are funds in the local budget.
One of the new master plan’s ideas is to create a ring road around a bit extended pedestrian zone. As Victor Pivtso noted, now there are too many vehicles in the heart of Mukachevo, so people need to have a space to rest and walk.
Therefore, representatives of the city government after the development of all the documents and plans want to bring up for a public discussion the proposal to block Nedetseya street and turn it into a sort of Mukachevo Montmartre – an open air gallery where artists, potters and other craftsmen and artisans could display their wares for sale.
