Ukraine ranked eighth in the top ten countries in the world with the highest mortality rate of the population according to the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency. This is stated in a special report of the CIA titled "International Fact Book", a copy of which was obtained by the HolosUA.
According to official information, the main criterion for the calculation is the number of deaths caused by general poverty, crime rate and poor quality of health care.According to the CIA, the number of deaths per 1,000 people in Ukraine is 15 people, and the only European state in the "black top ten" is Bulgaria (14 persons per 1,000). All other countries in the list are African states and Afghanistan. The leader by the above-mentioned parameters is South Africa (17 persons per 1,000).According to experts, the overall figure is also affected by the mortality rate among the people aged 65 years and older and number of deaths in accidents. The main recommendation of the creators of the "International Book of Facts" for "disadvantaged states" is to change the demographic strategy.
